Las Vegas is finally opening and people of Nevada are rejoicing at their newfound freedom! On February 15th, Governor Sisolak raised restrictions on Nevada. Restaurant capacity has increased from 25 to 35%, along with no longer needing a reservation for entry. All other places must operate at 250 people maximum or half of the capacity of the specific venue. What can you expect to enjoy now that Las Vegas is opening? Here are some of top locations you can visit:

Sports

Sports in Las Vegas are back in action! Sports fans can now enjoy their favorite sports in arenas, at a limited capacity once again. The ever popular Allegiant Stadium will be open on March 1st, 2021 at 15% capacity for fans. Aside from Allegiant Stadium, baseball fans can also enjoy Las Vegas Aviator games at the newly built Las Vegas ballpark, welcoming guests back to the stadium on April 15th. This also means a boost in business for the popular bar and pre/post game hangout, Frankie’s Uptown, located in downtown Summerlin. Racing fans will also be able to enjoy the Las Vegas Motor Speedway again, opening for a weekend of NASCAR racing beginning on March 5th.  

Entertainment

Las Vegas entertainment is alive again! Most shows are operating at 35% capacity until the middle of March, when the capacity will be moved to 50%. Popular shows such as Carrot Top, Tape Face, Fantasy, and Thunder From Down Under will be allowing 100 audience members into their individual theaters. When asked about how he feels regarding the new strides made in the Las Vegas entertainment world amongst the pandemic, Tape Face states, “At a time when entertainment is needed with restrictions, it’s nice to see the “good numbers” going up and the “bad numbers” going down.” Audiences can catch Tape Face in action weekly at the Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s, Las Vegas. 

Bars

Popular bars are now open in Las Vegas. Before February 15th 2021, bar goers could only sit tableside as opposed to bar side, along with only being able to go places that serve food. Now, bars of Las Vegas are open for tourists and residents alike to frequent. The current guidelines for bars, as well as restaurants include indoor dining and beverage service. Those wanting to dine or drink outdoors will not have a capacity limit to their party but will still have to be mindful of social distancing. Customers will no longer need a reservation to frequent a location and capacity will be raised from four people per party to six people per party. Some popular locations that are now open include Commonwealth, ReBar and Therapy. 

Pools

What do Vegas locals and tourists both love about Las Vegas? Its neverending shortage of ways to take a break from the heat! With Governor Sisolak’s speech of easing restrictions on Las Vegas, came the ability to open pools. Nightclubs will not be reopening as of yet and safety precautions will be in place at all dayclub locations. Pools that will be part of the reopening include Encore Beach Club and Wet Republic planning their openings for March 5th, along with Daylight Beach Club and the Cosmopolitan’s Marquee Pool. Aria’s Liquid Pool Lounge is set to follow, with an opening date of March 12th.  


Casinos

Casinos were the first to shut down last year when lockdown occurred on the Las Vegas Strip for the first time. Now, starting March 16th, various venues have been given the “go ahead” by Governor Sisolak to proceed with conferences, trade shows, as well as conventions for more than 250 people and up to 1,000. Casino goers must still adhere to social distancing guidelines along with wearing a mask at all times while inside the casino. Park MGM, Mandalay Bay and The Mirage will resume 24 hour operations starting in March.


Schools

Las Vegas schools have been granted the permission to resume in-person learning. The school restrictions will include allowing classrooms and contained spaces to offer at 75 percent capacity, and no more than 250 people. School buses will be allowed to increase to 66 percent capacity but must adhere to at least three feet of distancing requirements, along with mandatory wearing of masks.
